The trap doors are engineered to allow multiple snakes to enter without resetting the trap.
When the first snake triggers the mechanism, the non-return doors close behind it — but they are designed so that a second or even third snake can still push the doors inward to enter.
Due to the one-way design, snakes can only enter and cannot exit, ensuring safe containment of multiple animals.

Trigger System

  • Engineered to be activated only by snakes, reducing false alarms

  • The internal, low-profile trigger shaft requires downward body pressure to engage

    • Legged animals such as mice, rats, frogs, and spiders naturally step or jump over it and do not apply the required pressure

  • Extensive testing confirms that these animals pass through without triggering the mechanism, ensuring a true snake-only activation response

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Snake Trap is a safe, humane, and non-luring capture system engineered to intercept snakes along their natural travel routes. A snake can enter from either end of the trap, and when it reaches the centre, it must slide its body over the internal low-profile trigger shaft, applying the downward body pressure required to activate the mechanism.

Once triggered, the non-return doors close smoothly in the direction the snake is moving, allowing it to pull the rest of its body inside without pressure or injury. When activated, the trap’s audible alarm notifies you immediately that a snake has been contained.
Each trap has lockable end-cap doors (compatible with padlocks or Lynch Pins) to secure the animal during transport and to prevent accidental opening by children or unauthorized individuals.

The snake remains calm feeling safe inside the enclosed trap until you or a qualified handler relocates it to a suitable remote area away from residences, mines, farms, lodges, or any other human-occupied environment.

We manufacture two standard trap sizes in South Africa and can also produce custom sizes for specific target species:
